These are the cats currently available to visit in the cat lounge!
Reservations are recommended, not required. Walk-ins welcome, but not guaranteed based on capacity.
There's a $10/person for 1 hour fee to go in the cat lounge. This minimal fee helps us take care of our feline friends.
Reservations can be made online
Children 12 years of age and under MUST have adult supervision. The cats do NOT do well with children 3 years of age and under. While we know the kids are excited to see the cats, it is best they do not enter the lounge. We have TONS of windows where they can see the cats!
The cats prefer a quiet and calm environment. Sit back, relax, and be patient! If the cats are comfortable, they will come to you. If you have children in your party, we know how excited they are. Please make sure they use quiet voices, otherwise the cats will be scared and not come out. If the cats appear too stressed, we reserve the right to pause visits until the cats calm down.
All cats are adoptable through Little Orphans Animal Rescue.
Meet the Cats

Domestic Shorthair, 2 years, Male Neutered
Sam
Sam and his sister, Lena, were dumped off in the middle of the road in front of a volunteer's farm. They were sitting in the middle of the road, confused & scared. The volunteer was able to pick them up and bring them to the shelter. Sam has been in our shelter ever since, even surviving FIP! He has become an amazing adult cat, and a loving and consistent friend in our shelter.
Sam is as handsome as he is sweet. He seems to attract a little bullying from some of the more outgoing or aggressive cats in our shelter. We are not sure why this is or if it is just Sam being "overly sensitive". Either way, we love him so much and we would love for him to finally have the opportunity to have a home and family of his own.
Sam is a survivor!
This kitty is an FIP Survivor. Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) was once 100% fatal, but now thanks to an amazing group of researchers this is changing. In 2023 about 80% of cats diagnosed and treated are being saved. In Summer of 2024 the drug used to treat this disease became legal for USA vets to prescribe.
Cats that survive FIP do not require any special medications, or food, just lots of love and attention. It is important that they continue regular annual checkups to monitor their health.

Domestic Shorthair, 10 months, Female Spayed
Evelyn
Look at those eyes! Evelyn is such a beauty. She is a petite little tabby girl, that loves to be adored. All the "shelter boys" follow her around, just hoping to she may notice them, but Evelyn is not interested in them, but has those beautiful eyes on the real prize, a family of her own. Evelyn is not aggressive, or "mean" to other cats, but she certainly loves attention from all of the people around her, so I do not think she would mind in the least to be an only cat OR if you have a laid back (not demanding) cat already in your home who shares well, she would be fine with that as well. This girl will follow you around and "talk" to you until you take a moment to pet her she will flop down or roll to enjoy it for as long as you have. She is such a great cat in a perfect little package. Complete an app to come and check her out!
All of our kitties have s/n completed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. If you'd like to meet her or any of our great cats/kittens please submit an online adoption application at littleorphans.org. Please give our Adoption Team time to process all the info. The more complete your application is determines how quickly we are able to process your application. Please try to give your vets office (give prior authorization to release information to us), landlord, and references a heads up to expect our call.

Domestic Shorthair, 1 year, Male Neutered
Ringo
Ringo is such a sweet cat. He is still confused as to the hows and whys of being at the shelter, but he is slowly coming out of his shell. He came in with 5 other kittens, not all from the same litter as they are different ages but all get along well with each other. We know very little of their life before they came to us so we are working hard to get to know each of them. Ringo is probably the most timid of the six. If you approach him slowly you are able to pet and love on him. We know with a little time and patience he will figure out that people and their attention are good. Ringo is fine with all of the other cats, seems okay with the dogs that have came through the shelter, and does seem to want attention from kids and adults alike. If you are looking to add kittens to your family please consider this shy but sweet boy. He would probably blossom quicker with a very outgoing social kitten/young cat as a "partner". Ringo just needs to learn how to be a kitten; meaning a carefree, sun sleeping, bird watching, and much loved family cat. Do you have a the perfect home to do that? Please consider Ringo.
PLEASE READ*****IMPORTANT******We require your home to include a YOUNG, age-appropriate feline companion. Young kittens will not be approved for homes where they do not have a young feline companion. Gobi
We took in a group of six kittens/teenage kittens we lovingly call the "Desert" kittens. All named after deserts around the world. They arrived as more like "teenage" kittens, old enough to be past the care-free stage, but young enough to not know how to process all the changes. They were scared and unsure of all of us. We had some difficult first days, trying to acclimate these babies to the shelter, and their new home with us. There was some initial hissing and hiding, that is what makes watching each them come out of their shell such a joy! They are starting to become "kittens" now! They play, they are curious, and they will greet us by their door waiting for food and treats. We all just love this and all of them!
Each of these beautiful "desert" kittens has a unique look and personality. Each one is in a different point in the process as far as socialization. The two black kittens (Gibson and Gobi) were the first to come forward, the first to give us their trust, and want affection from volunteers. This has helped us connect with the other kittens as well.
We know these young cats may need just a little extra time to adjust to their new home, but based on what we have seen in the shelter environment, they will quickly become loving members of their new family. Please give these young and beautiful souls a chance at a beautiful life.
**Gobi is a solid black female kitten**

Calico, 9 years, Female Spayed
Shyloh
This sweet lady just pulls at our heart strings. She was adopted from our shelter years ago, but now had to return due to significant life changes in her previous family. This is no fault of Shyloh's, but now she REALLY needs a hero. She is terrified, overwhelmed, and a little depressed at our shelter. Who can blame her, she is kind of back where she started, and is not sure why. We are giving her lots of love, but it is certainly not the same as being part of a family. We have her in a room with some other kitties that need more of a slow approach and she is doing well with them with them. She is a shy kitty by nature, but does love to be touched, she starts to purr the instant you pet her. Shyloh is a great cat that deserves a second chance at a happy life. If you can offer this lady a quiet home, a little patience, and lots of love you will for sure be rewarded with a loyal and appreciative friend. Please consider adding this beautiful cat to your family....she deserves a forever family.
Our kitties are have spay/neuter complete, up to date on vaccines, and are microchipped. If you'd like to meet her or any of our great kitties please submit an online adoption application at littleorphans.org and give our Adoption Team (all volunteers) a little bit of time to process all the info. Once your app is approved, we will set up a time for you to meet the kitty you applied for and any others we feel might be a good fit for your family.

Kalahari was next, and now loves attention! He will rub against you until stop what you are doing to pet him. Sahara has now learned from Kalahari and these two now run around the shelter, trying to rub against our cats, and volunteers for attention (and treats). We know these young cats may need just a little extra time to adjust to their new home, but based on what we have seen in the shelter environment, they will quickly become loving members of their new family. Please give these young and beautiful souls a chance at a beautiful life. **Sahara is a uniquely colored tabby male kitten** He is a gorgeous cat with soft down turn eyes. He just looks so sweet. If approached quietly and slowly, Sahara does enjoy attention and will allow you to pet him.

Baby Jane
We love this sweet kitten so much! After arriving at our shelter, Baby Jane quickly became a shelter favorite! This little girl was tiny but mighty. Anything she lacked in size she certainly made up for in personality! She started to grow up quickly in our shelter and eventually went on an adventure to The Cat's Brew. Here she was able to meet tons of people and show off a bit. Which this pretty girl loves. Baby Jane was adopted, but unfortunately the homes older cat did not take kindly to Baby Jane's youthful beauty and decided it was time for her to "go back to where she came from" so that is what she did. Baby Jane wanted us to make it clear, (as did her adopters) this was not Baby Jane's fault, and she did nothing to cause this issue. All that said, Baby Jane would be fine in a home with other cats, as she lived with many at the shelter, and also at the Cat's Brew without issue. She would do great with a younger cat or a friendly adult cat that is willing to put up with a "younger girl" in his/her space.
**For kitties listed as "@ The Cat's Brew" please see their facebook page, or website on how to reserve a time to hang out with the kitties. You will be able to meet all of the cats (normally nine) at that location to find your "purrrfect" fit!

Mojave is probably still the most timid. He will stand behind the other kittens at times, but you can see he wants to trust, and really wants love. Mojave is not aggressive, just still a little scared, he like the others, continues to make progress. He would probably do best with the support of one of his siblings to assist in the transition to a forever home.
We know these young cats may need just a little extra time to adjust to their new home, but based on what we have seen in the shelter environment, they will quickly become loving members of their new family. Please give these young and beautiful souls a chance at a beautiful life.
**Mojave is a black/grey colored tabby male kitten** He is a gorgeous cat with striking markings.
