These are the cats currently available to visit in the cat lounge!
Reservations are recommended, not required. Walk-ins welcome, but not guaranteed based on capacity.
There's a $10/person for 1 hour fee to go in the cat lounge. This minimal fee helps us take care of our feline friends.
Reservations can be made online
Children 12 years of age and under MUST have adult supervision. The cats do NOT do well with children 3 years of age and under. While we know the kids are excited to see the cats, it is best they do not enter the lounge. We have TONS of windows where they can see the cats!
The cats prefer a quiet and calm environment. Sit back, relax, and be patient! If the cats are comfortable, they will come to you. If you have children in your party, we know how excited they are. Please make sure they use quiet voices, otherwise the cats will be scared and not come out. If the cats appear too stressed, we reserve the right to pause visits until the cats calm down.
All cats are adoptable through Little Orphans Animal Rescue.
Meet the Cats

Domestic Shorthair 1 year Male Neutered
Nemo
Look at this beautiful ginger boy!! Nemo is the total package. He is sweet and loves attention, gets along with other kitties and like to play. He is a talkative boy. He will come running up to you with his signature meow as if he is telling on some of his playmates or letting you know that he missed you! Nemo and his 3 siblings were found in a boat that was being stored at a local shop. They were so tiny, about 3 weeks old and starving. They quickly learned how to eat on their own and joined the shelter crew. However, Nemo was diagnosed with FIP on Nov 17, 2023. He was a very sick little boy, but we were able to start him on the GS meds right away. With the help of FIP Global group, he made it through treatment and on June 4, 2024 he was declared CURED of this disease that was 100% fatal just a few years ago!
Nemo is now healthy and has grown to a whopping 9 lbs. Nemo's former condition only means that his annual exams and blood work will be important in keeping him healthy. He is not on any medication or special food. He is a healthy, fun, and active ginger cutie!

Domestic Shorthair 3 years Female Spayed
Elsie (L.C)
Elsie (L.C. -"Lost Cat") was brought in one rainy night when she was found in the middle of a highway all by herself. She appeared to have injured back legs, so was taken to the vet for X-rays. Nothing significant really showed up but suspected she may have fallen from under a car.
Elsie is a little shy. She does enjoy being petted but does not really like to be picked up or carried. She will need someone who can give her some extra time and patience at first while she adjusts to a new home and family. She likes to play with interactive toys and when she runs she hops like a bunny. Elsie is gentle and kind to other fur kids at the shelter. She waits her turn for food or attention. She is never aggressive even with the kittens that have not yet learned that skill. She has also waited just as patiently for "person" to choose her. If you are looking for an "old soul" type of cat, check out Elsie.
Elsie's adoption fee includes spay surgery, deworming, flea treatment, up-to-date on all her vaccines, and a microchip. If you would like to meet her please submit an online adoption application at our website www.littleorphansanimalrescue.org Give our Adoption Team time to process your app. We generally make contact via email if we need further information. Upon approval a volunteer will call you to arrange a meet or adoption day!

Domestic Shorthair 11 months Female Spayed
Callie
Check out Callie! She is a gorgeous girl with the sweetest demeanor. She is calm and patient, but enjoys every bit of attention you show her. Callie is fairly new to our shelter (she came in with Monty) so we are in the process of getting to know more about her. So far, we think she is mellow and accepting so would probably fit into most any home. She seems fine with all of the other LOAR kitties, and seems to appreciate attention from any/all our of volunteers. Please consider Callie, even though she seems okay with the shelter, we know she would love to find her forever home. Again, she did come in with Monty so if you want to avoid "adjustment time" these two would be happy to continue their journey together.

Domestic Shorthair 11 months Male Neutered
Monty
Monty has the cutest face! This young kitty has it all; looks, personality, and a cute meow. He is fairly new to our shelter so we are just getting to know him but so far we are a little obsessed. He was brought to us along with Callie. They both seem to be adjusting to shelter life well. We know Monty can turn on the charm for anyone, so he would fit right in to most any family. He is young yet so would enjoy the company of another cat, and if you want to avoid the "adjustment time" you could adopt both Callie and Monty as they already have a great friendship. Monty is a sweet guy who is looking for a great family to welcome him home.

Domestic Shorthair 8 months Male Neutered
Oscar
Oscar was found with his siblings by one of volunteers. They are all still adjusting to shelter life, so are somewhat reserved yet. He is the "big brother" of the group. Solid and protective. He is coming to understand love and affection and seems to enjoy it once he lets his guard down. Oscar and Otto are twins as they look very much alike, down to the white batch on their chests. Oscar is a beautiful boy just waiting for the right family to find him.
Please read*****IMPORTANT******We require your home to include a YOUNG, age-appropriate feline companion. Young kittens will not be approved for homes where they will not have a young feline companion. If you do not wish to adopt two kittens, please consider selecting a cat nearer to one year of age or older. Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of both cats while also making your life easier. Single kitten issues/problems are a real thing.

Domestic Shorthair 3 years Female Spayed
Bobbi
Bobbi (and Tinker) were surrendered after their family was no longer able to care for them. They were understandably scared and confused when they arrived at our shelter. Bobbi started to adjust to the shelter after several days, Tinker is still trying to work through this "new world".
This girl is beautiful. She pays attention to her grooming as she likes to look her best. Bobbi is very friendly to all the volunteers and enjoys attention. She sometimes gives a soft growl when kittens come running up too quickly while she is getting attention. However, she is not aggressive or physical with other cats. She would be fine with other adult cats, especially those that respect personal space. She would also be fine as an only cat. All of the volunteers have become very attached to Bobbi as she is a sweetheart.
Bobbi is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She was also recently fully vetted, including blood work. Bobbi is healthy and ready to start a new life with her forever family.

Domestic Shorthair 2 years Female Spayed
Wendy
Wendy is such a little doll! She has a pixie face that will certainly stay with her so she will always look like a kitten. We love this girl so much! She is sweet, kind to others, and loves attention. Wendy is a petite girl that walks a little like a body builder. Hard to explain but 100% adorable!
This kitty is an FIP Survivor. Wendy was treated and now CURED of this disease. It is not contagious and does NOT require lifelong treatment or medications. The only "extra" factor when adopting a survivor is that regular vet check-ups are essential to keep Wendy healthy and happy. All of the volunteers are very attached to Wendy as she has been a staple in the shelter, while she was ill we all spend extra time with her hoping and praying for her health to return. She fought hard to be healthy again. It is hard not to fall in love with a tough little cookie like Wendy!
Wendy is fixed, utd on vaccines, and microchipped.

Domestic Shorthair, 2 years, Female Spayed
Gypsy
Gypsy was found in a volunteer's garage during the Polar Vortex. She stayed there for a few weeks getting fed well, kept warm, getting dewormer, treated for fleas and vaccinated while waiting for an opening at the shelter. Gypsy was a little timid at first, and is still somewhat reserved. She does let you pet her and love her up and is not at all aggressive just again a more reserved little lady. She does however purr like a motorboat when you pet her or hold her. We know there is the perfect family out there who will give her the time and patience she needs to really let her snuggle-bunny self shine.
