The Cat’s Brew, LLC, est. 2023, is 100% women-owned and local to Dane County; owned by Liz Brey and Heather Wipijewski, both Credentialed Veterinary Technicians who live in Sun Prairie and love the community here.
The Cat’s Brew plans to remain 100% local and women owned for the next several years.
Meet the Team
Liz and Heather have worked in the veterinary industry for over 25 years each. They met while working for a local veterinary emergency hospital. While they worked together, they became friends and would meet weekly outside of work for coffee. Initially joking around about starting a cat café to combat the stress of working in emergency medicine. The discussions went from dreaming of a way to be out of very stressful careers to a reality we wanted to pursue. The goal was to find a way to continue to serve and work with animals. The result is The Cat’s Brew.

Heather
I was raised in Menomonee Falls, WI. I spent many summers in Lake Mills visiting grandparents and enjoying the beaches. My career has been varied and fulfilling from working in practice to teaching and running a vet tech program to running several emergency veterinary hospitals. I've raised two children and am thoroughly enjoying being a grandma! Eager to start this next chapter as a business owner, I can't wait to help cats find homes and work in the community.

I grew up in rural Wisconsin. Growing up in the country, animals have always been a huge part of my life and drove me to a career as a Certified Veterinary Technician. I worked as a CVT for 30 years and earned the nickname "the cat whisperer." I am a proud cat lady. All of my cats have been rescues from various situations. It's a dream come true to open this cafe and continue to help rescue cats. I'm looking forward to meeting new people...and new cats!
