Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Do I need a reservation to visit the kitties?
A: While we do not "require" reservations to visit the kitties, we do strongly recommend them to guarantee your spot.  We only allow 8 customers (including children) in the cat lounge.

Q: How do I make reservations for the cat lounge?
A: We are so glad you asked!  Reservations are made on our website https://www.thecatsbrew.com/reservations

Q: Can I bring my own cat to the cafe?
A: While we would LOVE to meet your feline friend, you cannot bring your own cat to the cafe.

Q: Can I take food and drinks into the cat lounge?
A: Great question!  You can absolutely take drinks into the cat lounge, however, food is not allowed.  The cats are, well, obnoxious when it comes to food!

Q: Are the cats walking around where people eat and drink?
A: No!  When you enter, you are in the cafe where the cats will never be! (although they want to be purristas!)  The cat lounge is a totally separate area from the cafe.  There are a ton of windows in the cafe so you are able to look in to see the cats!

Q: Either myself or a family member/friend is allergic to cats, so would we still be able to come to the cafe?
A: Yes!  The cafe and cat lounge are on two totally separate HVAC systems, so the air does not mix.  Also, the cat lounge is kept on negative pressure, which means when the door is opened, all the air from that room doesn't come out into the hall.  So even those who are allergic, can come to the cafe and enjoy!

Q: Why is there a charge to visit with the kitties?
A: Great question!  The money from cat lounge visits, goes back to the care of the cats (and they are spoiled!).  This includes things like cat trees, enrichment items, treats, medical expenses, etc.

Q: Are the cats all adoptable?
A: Yes!  We work with Little Orphan's Animal Rescue, located in Montello, WI, so all cats are available for adoption. Of course you are not required to adopt to visit.  You can pet/play and get some stress relief by hanging out with the cats for an hour.

Q: How many cats do you have?
A: That depends on adoptions and when new cats are ready to come to the cafe.  The max we will have at a time is 9 cats.

Q: Do you have an age requirement to visit the kitties?
A: At this time, we do not have an age requirement, however, do expect parents to closely monitor their children while in the cat lounge.  This includes not allowing them to climb on furniture, speak quietly, not chase kitties, throw toys, etc.  We know how excited kids get to see the kitties, however, if the unwanted behavior continues after a warning, we may ask you to leave (no refunds will be issued).  We would prefer not to put age requirements in place, yet can say the cats do not do well with children 3 and under.
